What changes the price

The request form asks these questions; businesses see your answers when they price the job.

Type of space: An apartment, a house, an office, a short-term rental turnover, a move-in or move-out, or after renovation.
Approximate size: The approximate area of the space.
Frequency: One time or recurring (weekly, every two weeks, monthly).
Type of clean: A regular clean, a deep clean, a move clean or after construction are different jobs.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms and kitchens take the most time.
Bedrooms (residential only): For a home, the number of bedrooms.
Pets in the home: Pets mean more hair to clean, and cleaners want to know in advance.
Who provides cleaning supplies?: The cleaner's products, yours, or eco-friendly products.

What to check before you hire

Every offer carries one of three labels: "Licence verified" (Bidit has verified it), "Licence not yet verified by Bidit" or "No licence number provided". A business can make an offer before Bidit has verified it, so read the label before you choose.

Documents a cleaning business can give Bidit include a provincial business registration, CNESST registration as an employer in Québec (WSIB in Ontario) and an insurance certificate. None of these is checked automatically against a public register, so read the label on each offer and ask the business for the documents.

Ask each business what a visit includes (rooms, appliances, windows) and how long it takes.
For recurring cleaning, ask how a cancelled or rescheduled visit is handled.
